Alabama native, Mika Nicole a.k.a Blackfrost drops nothing but fire and seals it once again with her latest video for single “60”. Spitting nothing but sharp bars, she is definitely representing for female emcees past and present. Mika Nicole’s flow is cut throat, street and the beat is out of this world. The visual is on point with beautiful ladies and hot cars, classy mixed with street.

Be sure to request “60” with your local radio stations and club Dj’s

mixy

Fusing a term from his hometown of New York City with experiences from his current Atlanta base, rapper Jeff Chery releases his latest single, “Mixy”. Over hypnotic production by Funkybeat (whose previous collaborations with Jeff include “Three Headed Monster”, “My Town” and “Go”), the track shines the spotlight on the New York term “mixy” — which means to have fun and be in the mix.

The infectious club anthem — whose name has even spawned an increasingly popular drink of Coconut Ciroc, pineapple juice and Sprite in local Atlanta nightspots — will be available for download on iTunes shortly.

Panamanian, Pop/R&B Fusion artist, DioMara released her debut EP Black Pearls on June 1. The concept of Black Pearls is to show DioMara’s diverse personality as being sophisticated and edgy. The music is a mixture of R&B, Pop, Rock and other genres. This EP caters to almost any type of audience. She worked with producer Hazali of FortheLovers Music who executive produced the entire EP. They both pushed each other to different limits on each song. “Dio is natural and it was an honor working with such a talent,” said Hazali.

In the past two months she released her two latest singles off of Black Pearls called To The Top ft. TuNe$ and Hold On, which are available on soundcloud. To The Top is a song representing couples who are working hard together to be successful. However,Hold On is the opposite which one partner in the relationship is fighting to hold on to the relationship because the other is doing wrong and DioMara is trying to let the other partner know they might lose this person. She uses the second point of view approach which makes the audience feel she is directly speaking to them. The feedback she has been receiving from both songs is they are ‘catchy’, ‘inspirational’ and ‘too real’. Both singles are doing well and have been played on several online radio stations and featured in several blogs.

“My Black Pearls EP means everything to me. I waited all the way until I was completely done with my education to pursue music. It’s been a long and trying year but we persevered. I love every single piece, I and my team, created and I want to especially thank them. Thank you to my executive producer of my project Hazali. Long nights… and he is so talented. I want to also thank my family and friends who have supported me thus far and who have stuck by me. Last but not least, I would like to thank my manager Jessica Lanice C. for believing in my talent and being the other driving force to the creation of this project. Without her backing, I probably wouldn’t have accomplished this. So thank you all! And for the listeners enjoy; much more to come… I promise,” said DioMara.

“To accompany the conscious message of Jeff Chery’s latest single, The People, which features sound bites of Black Panther co-founder Huey P. Newton, the rapper releases a chilling visual directed by Open Gate Studios.

Filmed at the remains of Atlanta Prison Farm, a facility that operated from 1945 to 1995, the video includes scenes of vagabond rebels ready for battle with the people perpetrating violence against Americans as well as Jeff rapping with a noose around his neck to symbolize the painful past overcome by African-Americans. “I wear it like it’s nothing,” Jeff says of the noose, “because we are past that. I wanted people to view this video and have the images take them to a place that meant something to them.” Interspersed with the Atlanta Prison Farm scenes are images of critical moments in African-American history.
The People appears on Jeff’s upcoming mixtape, Jetset Vagabond, which is due for release on February 19.”
